What is Double Cleansing?

By now, a lot of you may have heard of double cleansing, since this cleansing technique has been around for a very long time, particularly in K-beauty. It is as simple as it sounds, thoroughly washing your face with two different types of cleansers. But to really get the benefits from this method, there are some important tips to follow. Achieve your dream of healthier, glassy skin with Etude!
Oil-Based Cleanser
Step 1 is using cleansing oil in order to remove makeup, sunscreen, dirt, and tiny dust that stick to your skin. The oil cleanses out clogged pores, leaving the skin smooth and silky. The secret to thorough cleansing lies in the 'emulsification' process.

Here's how to emulsify your skin!

After massaging your skin with cleansing oil on dry hands for about a minute, slightly add water to your hands. Check the oil turn into a milky color. Carefully keep massaging using circular motions on your face, specially around the nose, chin, and upper lips, where dirt can easily be trapped. Then, wash out your face with lukewarm water.
Foam/Whip Cleanser
Step 2 is to properly clean the rest of the impurities after the oil has removed all dirt and makeup. With the skin still wet, use a foam cleanser or whip cleanser for this step. Perform a longer massage with slightly more power to remove the oil entirely. Then splash the second cleanser off the skin.

Foam Cleanser Vs. Whip Cleanser

Some of you may be curious what the differences are between foam and whip cleansers. Foam cleansers tend to be good for oily and combo skin. On the other hand, whip cleansers tend to be good for dry skin, which has a fluffier consistency. Don't forget to check the ingredients to choose the right cleanser!
